Marine & Yachting
In the areas of shipping, we are recognised as one of the leading law firms in Switzerland.
Our expertise in maritime law includes advising companies on the sale and purchase of second hand vessels as well as luxury yachts, the repair and delivery of components, as well as the construction of new builds. We also advise our clients as to the financing of ships or other assets. In regulatory matters we support our clients in collaborating with the Swiss Maritime Navigation Office and the Port of Switzerland. In support of foreign proceedings and/or to secure claims, we can assist in arranging the arrest of cargo, ships and the freezing of bank accounts in Switzerland.
As regards the international carriage of goods by sea, in particular of commodities, we assist many of our clients in the drafting of complex time or voyage charterparties. We are also able to assist in arbitrating disputes arising out of the construction of carriage contracts, should the need arise.
We also regularly represent insurers as well as P&I Clubs in coverage, defence and recourse disputes.
